I've gotten so lazy with writing post names that I'm just going to start naming them after the songs I'm listening to, and if you haven't guessed, thats currently Fountains of Wayne.
I'm literally so angry at the weather, so I'm just in denial with this outfit. At least it's warm enough to wear it in my apartment right? Can someone pop me on a plane to LA with a one way ticket so I never have to see England again? Please? Oh this could quickly escalate into one of my very unpatriotic rants and end in me burning the Union Jack so I will finish now. I can't be the only one though?

As I'm on the go constantly, and not able to take outfit pictures at the moment, I thought I'd make a different post today. It's been a while since I've talked about my love for makeup, as this little space on t'internet has moulded itself into a personal style blog I've slowly neglected to post anything about Makeup. I love make-up, but I'm studying to become a makeup artist at the moment so this space tends to be makeup free as my little area of solace.
However, that's all changed today as here are the bits I've been carrying around in my travel makeup bag! I always whittle it down to the bare essentials when travelling as I like to keep my face very simple and minimal. There's an unusual amount of Elf going on in this post as I'm testing a few bits out that I bought a few weeks back, I'm unsure as to whether they'll become a permanent installment into my routine though.
My absolute favourite pieces travel everywhere with me, my sleek eyeliner is my holy grail product as it never irritates my sensitive eyes. The MUA brow pencil is only a mere £1 and I even use it in my professional makeup kit because I genuinely find that it's better than most on the market. And lastly, my trusty Bioderma - I wouldn't travel without it as makeup wipes wreak havoc on my skin and I don't like carrying wash cloths around for cleansers. I partially thank this wonder product for clearing up a large portion of my acne!
So there you have it, if you were interested. I wont be writing many makeup posts but I'll maybe write a few in the future, we'll see. Did you guys like it? I'm better at talking out loud about makeup, and I'll be doing more of that in the future on my Youtube channel.
While I'm on the subject, here's a roundup of my last few videos :)
I've been super duper sick recently, which means no blog posts and a lot of sulking. The only people I've seen in the last few days was the Sainsbury's delivery man and the plumbers, it's been a boring few days. To get myself out of my slump, I've arranged a few outfits to wear when I can leave my house again and here they are, they're both very different but that's what I love about experimenting with my style. I'm sure
I'll be back to blogging any day now, I'm excited to get out and get some colourful hair dye for my extensions. I also had a really exciting few days in London the other day too, I got the chance to work backstage with Illamasqua at the Sorapol show, ALL MY DREAMS CAME TRUE. I cannot even describe how lucky I've been over the last few weeks with work experience!
Dress worn as skirt): H&M sale last year (£3!!)
Shoes: Ebay (shusole)
I never caught on to the neon "trend" last year. It reminded me far too much of the S Club Juniors (back in the day!), and I'm not one to try every trend just for the sake of it. However as my style has grown I've decided to try it out. Now I know neons are "old hat" as my Nan would say, neons are getting more pretty and prim on the catwalks rather than the edgy looks we've been seeing, but I think that personal style revolves around taking old trends and mixing them up.
This is a fairly simple outfit for me but I'm still so liberated with my colour choices after dying my hair! I'm definitely not regretting it (yet). These shoes were only £12 from shusole on ebay!! Bargain. I have my eye on a few other pairs but I need to be spend-savvy as I'm trying to save my pennies.
Can you see a sneaky bit of my new tattoo? Here's a close up. It's so perfect and everything I dreamt of when I took the picture in, I couldn't be happier!
Also, as a side note, it would mean SO MUCH to me if you could nominate me for a company blog award under "Best Personal Style Newcomer". It shouldn't take too long and you can nominate as many blogs as you like :). It would be incredible if any of you felt like doing so! The link is below:
Here's a quick "Current inspiration post", I got most of these from Pinterest. I'm loving pink at the moment (when am I not?). I'm so happy to see pastels in stores again, however, I feel like people see pink as a tacky colour. I think we should all embrace it and be as tacky as our inner Barbie once in a while Will you be wearing any pink this spring? Or avoiding it completely?
Yes, that actually is me, the Wednesday Adams version of my former self and I LOVE my new hair colour. I was apprehensive at first because black is a permanent change and I love being colourful. However, pink hair was starting to own me, and I needed a colour that allows me to experiment with make-up and style. Of my personal appearance, I'd say about 80% of what I care about most is what I wear (I tried not to make that sound shallow, but it's hard. We all know clothes don't make the man though so take that sentence lightly!). Despite being a hair/make-up artist, I actually find more joy in clothes when it comes to expressing myself, and I'd lost that with pink hair, which essentially meant I'd lost a little part of me.
I do being a pinkie sometimes, but people on the street are STILL calling me pinkie (how?) and I feel so liberated with my clothes. I've been making choices with bold colours and prints, such as these two motel pieces, I look like a walking advertisement (oh, and while we're on the subject, you can use the code "hermione" at checkout for 20% off ;) wink wink - see what I did there?) Well, long story short, I'm loving having the chance to embrace colour again, I've even been wearing blue and mint green eyeliners, even though my fringe is hiding it in these pictures.
Ps: I'm back for good now, uni is calm again and I'm working from home as a sewing machinist for Beauxoxo, so work is nice and calm, so calm that I get to watch My Strange Addiction while I work - bliss! How has everyone been? I hope you're all as excited as I am to be covered in fabulous colours now that spring is here! xo
